PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT COMPACT 08-09

Please note the bolded items were changes made as a result of parent meeting 9/28/07

We believe that education through cooperation is the key to a promising future, not just for our children, but for all of us. The Parent-Teacher-Student Compact is an agreement between the school and home that states the commitment of the school faculty and staff, parents, and students to provide a learning environment in which ALL children can develop to their full potential. By working TOGETHER we will help our children become good students, productive workers, and model citizens.

AS A SCHOOL, WE PLEDGE TO…

  • Explain to students MNPS Standard School Attire (SSA).
  • Effectively use the Student Agenda’s daily
  • Inform parents when there is a need for a conference
  • Contact Parents before grades reach failing point
  • Provide a safe, positive and challenging school environment.
  • Inform parents of their child’s progress on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide inspiring and motivating learning experiences.
  • Work with parents to ensure that each child is successful in school.
  • Strive to meet the individual needs of all students.
  • Make home visits as needed.
  • Inform parents of school activities and encourage their involvement.
  • Be involved in the PTSO.
  • Conduct annual meeting to review School Project, Policies, and Student Performance

AS A PARENT, I PLEDGE TO…

  • Discuss with my child MNPS Code of Student Conduct and Standard School Attire (SSA).
  • Look for my child’s agenda to come home daily
  • Be involved in the PTSO.
  • Sent my child to school regularly and on time.
  • Encourage my child to do their homework, and provide a quiet place for homework and supervise its completion.
  • Help my child to resolve conflicts in a positive way.
  • Attend at least two school functions during the school year.
  • Talk with my child daily about school experiences.
  • Attend parent-teacher conferences.
  • Volunteer to help with school activities.
  • Use the homework agenda as a student’s daily organizer.

  • Show respect for myself, my friends, and all adults.
